Dr. Frank Terive Duperier is one the few most highly-skilled bariatric surgeons in San Antonio Texas, affording patients with all parathyroid surgery options of a state-of-the-art parathyroid surgery center. He has been practicing for over 20 years. Dr. Duperier is affiliated with Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio, Methodist Hospital and multiple other San Antonio area hospitals. Dr. Duperier is a co-founder of BMI of Texas, and he is the fellowship program director at BMI. He is also the Bariatric Medical Director of the Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio, and has served as Chief of Surgery at the Methodist Specialty Transplant Hospital of San Antonio.

Medical Degree — After graduation from Alamo Heights High School, San Antonio, in 1987, Dr. Duperier earned his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Brown University (1991), and then earned his medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1996.
Residency — Dr. Duperier's residency match took him to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ-Newark) in Newark, where he completed his 5-year surgery training program. During his training under internationally renowned laparoscopic surgeons, Dr. Duperier became interested in minimally invasive surgery.
Fellowship Training — Following his residency program, Dr. Duperier and his wife returned to Ohio. At the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, he completed his Fellowship training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Bariatric Surgery—the world's highest level of surgical training. In 2004, Dr. Duperier also completed a Mini-Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
Specialization — Dr. Duperier's area of specialization includes myriad surgical procedures for treating cancer, weight loss issues and a vast range of other diseases and medical conditions. Many surgeries can be performed using laparoscopy.
